Gerberas & Chrysanthemums Care

Gerberas (or Gerbera Daisies) grow in many different sizes and colours.

  1. Remove the leaves below the water line.
  2. While holding the stem under water, cut 2 to 3 cm off the stems. Do not let the freshly cut stem dry out.
  3. Fill a vase with water and add the flower condition, which came with your bouquet.
  4. If possible leave your flowers in a cool dark room to condition for a few hours after arranging.
  5. Temperature is an important factor in the vase life of these flowers. So display your fresh cut Gerberas in a cool area, out of direct sunlight and away from drafts and heat.
  6. Gerberas drink a lot of water, so it is important to check the vase is full daily.
  7. Gerberas are sensitive to bacteria blockage caused by dirty water, which can lead to bent necks. If this happens, re-cut stems and place in fresh water.
