The Peony or 'sho yo' - as known by the Chinese meaning 'most beautiful' is believed to have been discovered in Mongolia, but has been in the British Isles for almost 2000 years when they bought it by Roman legions.

Peonies are a very thirsty flower, so make sure you keep them well watered in their vase.
